HOT-or-NOT

HOT:Enhanced Quality

A recent report shows Tech is hitting goals set in its Fall 2005 Quality Enhancement Plan, with adoption of both the International Plan and Research Option meeting objectives. The International Plan has done particularly well, expanding to 42 programs. Thanks to the rapid expansion, nearly every new Tech student is able to gain the international experience that is so crucial in the modern world.

NOT:Cherry Picking

One of the main entrances to campus was closed off beginning Thursday afternoon last week as a result of a sewer line breakage. Cherry St. remained closed at North Avenue througout the weekend as City of Atlanta crews worked to repair the damage. The closing forced the temporary rerouting of Stinger routes and inconvenienced the myriad of students driving through campus.

HOT:Emergency Text

The Emergency Notification System's text messaging functionality launched this week, ahead of its promised unveiling in September. While students have to go through a pesky opt-in procedure, the quick launch yet again reinforces the Institute's commitment to keeping us safe and informed.

NOT:Stuffy Stingers

It always takes Parking and Transportation a few weeks to iron out bus schedules at the start of a new semester, but the crowds riding the Stingers and Tech Trolleys over the past two weeks seem excessively large. The long waits and huge throngs make it more tempting to buy a bicycle than ride a bus.
