No need for fixin' finals policy
Finals for seniors should not go into effect for two reasons. First of all, a Tech tradition like the exemption from finals for seniors is a privilege. After four (plus or, for a rare few, minus) years of hard work, the exemption from finals is Ma Tech's way of saying, "Congratulations! You made it!" Some of my fondest memories are of the time spent with graduating seniors during their final weeks at Tech. The last few weeks of one's stay at this school should be nothing but basking in the glory of one's accomplishment.
The second, and more practical reason for maintaining the senior exemption from finals, is this: When was the last time you met a graduating senior at the end of a quarter with nothing to do!? As if job search, relocation, car (maybe), and other considerations are not enough, they have to worry about that Econ final and finals in a few major courses.
In summary, I would like to offer a bit of advice that one and a half years of co-oping (in rural Georgia) and the time I have spent at this school have taught me: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
